Day 9
Ranakpur - Udaipur
After breakfast in Ranakpur hotel, depart for Udaipur. On the way to Udaipur, you will be visiting two very famous ancient temple complexes – Eklingiji & Nagda. Eklingiji Shiva Temple
is located in a village, 22 kms to the north of Udaipur. The Eklingiji Shiva Temple in the village was originally built in 734 AD, although its current appearance dates back to the
Maharana Raimal Empire between 1473 AD and 1509 AD. The walled complex includes an elaborate hall under a large pyramidal roof and sanctum sanctorum with a ‘lingam’ of black marble
with four images of Lord Shiva. The temple opens from 5 AM to 7 PM, from 10 AM to 01PM, and 5 PM to 7 PM.
After visiting Eklingiji, visit Nagda. Nagda, hardly a km from Eklingiji, is a small village these days. It is famous for Sahastra Bahu temples which are partially in ruins
but certainly indicate the lost glory and splendor. The cluster has very fine and complex architecture and carvings, including some erotic figures. Hereinafter, proceed to Udaipur.
On arrival, check in at the hotel. Spend evening in leisure and have overnight stay.
