Rajasthan with Central India Tour

The guided tour of Delhi will commence after breakfast. Discover the old city: the great Jama Masjid mosque and the bazaar of Chandni Chowk (closed on Sundays). Visit fabulous Akshardham Temple (closed on Monday), India Gate and President House. After lunch, visit Qutub Minar. Later in the evening, depart for Jodhpur by train. It will be an overnight journey.

Early in the morning arrive Jodhpur. You will be received by our representative at Jodhpur railway station and transferred to the pre-booked hotel. Visit of the impressive fortress of Meherangarh, Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum and Clock Tower is on the chart. Stroll through the old city alleys to the bustling bazaar. Overnight stay is scheduled in Jodhpur hotel.

After breakfast in Jodhpur hotel, depart for Bhenswara. En route visit the ruins of Jalore Palace as well as Jain and Hindu temples. On arrival at Bhenswara, you will be welcomed by the owner family of the Bhenswara Fort, popularly called Rawla Bhenswara, that has been converted into a heritage hotel. In the evening, enjoy a jeep safari to observe the flora & fauna of the region. Here you have a good chance of seeing leopards. Overnight stay is scheduled in Bhenswara Fort hotel.

You can discover the region and the village during walks and/or, jeep, bicycle ride (to be reserved on site). The women of the surrounding tribes are reputed to be among the most beautiful in northern India and still wear traditional clothing and jewelry.

After breakfast, drive to Ranakpur and visit the Adinath temple dating back to the 15th century. Beautifully carved and built of white marble, the Ranakpur Temple is an important pilgrim of Jainism and is one of the jewels of Jain architecture. Post- lunch, continue your drive to Udaipur, the white city. Late afternoon, enjoy boat trip on Lake Pichola at sunset. Overnight stay is planned in Udaipur hotel.

Have breakfast and visit the palace of Maharana which houses a labyrinth of courtyards, rooms and richly decorated lounges. The City Palace of Udaipur overlooks the city and the lake. Visit the Jagdish Temple of 17th century. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Afternoon, stroll through the old town and the bazaar. Overnight stay is scheduled in Udaipur hotel.

Drive towards Bijaipur after having breakfast in Udaipur hotel. On the way, visit the fortress of Chittorgarh, which stands imposingly over the plain. You will discover the vestiges of many temples and palaces in the citadel. Post lunch, proceed for Bijaipur. On arrival, check in at the castle turned hotel of the village of Bijaipur. The evening is kept free for leisure.

Have breakfast and as per your wish you can attend early morning yoga classes or go on horse riding safari (to be paid locally). Move from Bijaipur to Bundi. On the way, stop at the Temples of Menal. On arrival at Bundi, check in at the pre-booked hotel. Later, visit the princely town dominated by the fort and the Rajput palace decorated with splendid paintings of the eighteenth century. Stroll through the old town and the bazaar. Overnight stay is scheduled in Bundi.

Bundi – Bhainsrorgarh (95 kms/ 1 hr - 30 min)

After breakfast in Bundi palace hotel, discover the well of the Rani, the pavilion with 84 pillars and royal cenotaphs with delicate reliefs. Proceed on for Bhainsrorgarh. On the way, make an excursion to the temples of Baroli, hidden in the forest. Built between the 9th and 12th centuries, they are one of the most beautiful religious architecture complexes in Rajasthan. Late afternoon, reach Bhainsrorgarh check in at the fort-palace hotel and explore the fortress of Bhainsrorgarh perched on a rocky peak. Night stay has to be in the fortress.

Bhainsrorgarh – Jhalawar - Mandu (395 km/ 7 hrs)

After breakfast in Bhainsrorgarh palace hotel, drive towards Mandu, a historical city in Madhya Pradesh state, located in central India. On the way to Mandu, have a short halt in the fortified city of Jhalawar, two hours drive away, and visit the Sun temple and the Jain temple, abundantly carved. Continue your drive to Mandu, one of the major sites of central India. After about 5 hours of drive, reach Mandu to get transferred to the hotel for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day is dedicated to the visit of the city. From its tormented past, the ghost town has retained illustrious testimonies and has one of the most prestigious collections of Afghan architecture in India. Visit the main monuments: the Jama Masjid, mosque dating from the 15th century; the mausoleum of Hoshang Shah; the palace of Prince Baz Bahadur and the romantic pavilion of Rupmati. Mandu – Maheshwar (55 km/ 2 hr)

Have breakfast in relaxed manner in Mandu hotel and drive to Maheshwar. After two hours of drive, reach at Mahaeshwar, check in at the hotel and enjoy free day at leisure. Maheshwar is famous for a legendary temple mentioned in the Ramayana, located on the banks of the Narmada, one of the sacred rivers of India. Overnight stay is planned in the hotel.

One of the religious places of the Hindus, Maheshwar offers lot of opportunity to be witness to Hindu way of life. Walk along the ghats and visit a workshop of weaving of saris. Visit the finely crafted temples and the fort which houses the curious and endearing marble image of the goddess Parvati holding the child Ganesha on her knees. Night stay is planned in Maheshwara hotel.

Maheshwara – Indore (90 kms/ 3 hrs) - Departure

After breakfast, drive to Indore. From Indore board flight to Mumbai. In Mumbai, you will be provided assistance on arrival and transfer to the international airport.
