Abhaneri was earlier known as Abha Nagri, which means "city of brightness". Now reduced into a derelict village, Abhaneri used to be capital city of Gurjar king Mihir Bhoj. Currently the village of Abhaneri is located in the Dausa district in Rajasthan. A trip to this village can be arranged during your journey between Agra and Jaipur. Abhaneri is popularly known for the beauty of the architecture of indigenous water harvesting and storage system, called Baori.
