Crossed by the river Yamuna, the city is divided into five municipal administrations, including New Delhi the capital of India. Delhi is full of ancient vestiges testifying to a continuous human presence since the 6th century BC. As and when one travels through the city, one discovers its past which evokes the first Hindu cities that composed it. It was then projected at the time of the sultanate of Delhi, former major center of Sufism. One goes back in time circulating through the exceptional monuments dating from the Mughal Empire. One plunges into the atmosphere of the East India Company of Great Britain, a period during which Delhi wanted to be the testimony of the power of the British Empire. Finally, one visits modern India, became independent in 1947, a country in full expansion and constantly changing. Delhi is the economic center of North India, the capital with the densest road network of India, a city of more than 20 million inhabitants, a gigantic agglomeration where business districts rub shoulders with popular dwellings and where upscale shops share the street with traditional markets. Evening is free for leisure and overnight stay in Delhi hotel.
