Jaipur city tour
After leisurely breakfast, drive to Amber through old town Jaipur. Jaipur is capital of the State of Rajasthan and a mega-city. Jaipur is the center for many visitors. Jaipur is one of the most colorful cities in India, the reddish paint on the walls and facades of old town lent her the name “pink-red city”.
At Amber Fort enjoy a maharaja-like ride on a richly decorated elephant. The elephant ride will commence at the foothill and ends at the courtyard of the palace. Watch and get mesmerized having seen the public audience hall (Diwan-i-Aam), magnificent Ganesh gate and the mirror palace (Shish Mahal), one of the most beautiful structures of its kind in Rajasthan. Later, return to city centre to see Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal ), one of the landmarks of Jaipur. The Palace of the Winds is a sham facade with 953 airy windows. Here the ladies of the royal family used to watch the action on the street, without being seen themselves. The city of Jaipur is rectangular in shape and divided into symmetrical blocks, in accordance with the requirements of city planning, as laid down in ancient Indian scripture on architecture “Shilpa Shastra”.
