Samode Palace is a gem among the palaces of Rajasthan. After breakfast, drive to Samode. The Samode Palace is the end point of a mountain road that winds through several archways upwards. This fairytale castle was the residence of one of the vassals of the Rajput kingdom. The family traces its descent down to Prithviraj Singhji of Amber (1503-28), a prince of Kachhwaha Rajputs. The landed gentry of Samode was devoted to the Maharaja of Amber and Jaipur and held important ministerial posts.
