During Islamic rule in Delhi, it was first converted into a royal observatory by Dara Shikoh,

overlooking the Dal. Another famous garden worth watching in Srinagar is Nishat Bag (the Garden of Bliss).
Nishat Bag, laid down by Nur Jahan’s father Asif Khan in 1633 AD on the banks of Dal Lake, had 12 terraces
rising one above the other but the lower terraces those stretched down to
Dal Lake no longer exist now,
having been cut off by the modern road. As a result, the garden is now left with only nine terraces.
