Mumbai , the commercial capital of India, has lot to show of colonial as well as distant ancient past. Ajanta is rock cut Buddhist chapel, famous for its paintings and murals dating back to pre-Christ era. Ellora is also an ancient cluster of rock-cut temples belonging to Hindu, Buddhist and Jain faiths. Ajanta and Ellora are traversed from Aurangabad district in Maharashtra.

Day 1

Arrive Delhi

Incredible India welcomes you on arrival at Indian soil. Our representative will welcome you warmly and graciously in traditional way at the New Delhi airport on your arrival. You will be introduced with your chauffeur for the Delhi-Agra-Jaipur circuit of Golden Triangle with Mumbai Ajanta Ellora Tour. Thereafter, you will be transferred to Delhi hotel for overnight stay. It is assumed that normally international flights land in the evening or night.

Day 2

Delhi city tour

After relaxing overnight & having breakfast, proceed on for exploring Delhi and its world-class monuments and bustling markets. In the company of a professional and knowledgeable guide, the discovery of Delhi commences with visit to Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, a famous and historical Sikh Temple. The Sikh are people who follow the religion of Sikhism. Within Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, observe way of worship and functioning of ‘langar’. Continue your drive to old Delhi where you will be visiting Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandani Chowk. Chandni Chowk exploration will be on manually-pulled rickshaw ride. The Red Fort (closed on Mondays), also called Lal Qila, was built in the 17th century by the Mughal ruler Shah Jahan. It is a masterpiece of architecture. Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, has huge & fascinating entrance gate. Then, you will be taken to Raj Ghat , the memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. Next attraction on the chart of sightseeing is Akshardham Temple, a marvelous piece of architectural gem on the bank of Yamuna River. Again drive towards visiting Qutub Minar. On the way, see India Gate (a war memorial) and President House. Qutab Minar, built in 13th century, is a 72.5 m high red sandstone tower. The surrounding archaeological area includes tombs, magnificent portal of Alai-Darwaza, two mosques including that of Quwwat-ul-Islam, the oldest in northern India, made of materials from twenty seven Hindu & Jain temples. These temples had been razed by the fanatic Muslim invaders. Later return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3

Delhi – Agra – Agra city tour

Having enjoyed delicious breakfast in Delhi hotel, depart early for Agra. After four hours of drive, reach Agra. On arrival at Agra, you will be directly transferred to check in at the hotel. Here, Agra tour guide will meet you and take you to Taj Mahal & Agra Fort. First visit the white pearl of India -Taj Mahal which reveals its fascinating beauty on the south bank of the Yamuna River. There is no monument in the world that can match the beauty and grandeur of the Taj Mahal. Surrounded by a pleasant garden with a serene atmosphere, the massive marble building is breathtaking. The Taj Mahal was built more than 350 years ago. It seems to have lost nothing of its splendor. It can boast of being one of the most popular tourist landmarks in the world, having retained its charm and romantic atmosphere. After visiting Taj Mahal, have lunch in a nice restaurant of Agra. Post lunch, along with guide, visit Agra Fort, one of the three UNESCO World Heritage sites in Agra. The site was first a Rajput fortress but Akbar built there a sandstone fort. After sightseeing of Agra monuments, explore local market for marble souvenirs. Shopping in Agra is a sheer pleasure. Later, in the evening, return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4

Agra- Fatehpur Sikri – Abhaneri – Jaipur

Having delicious breakfast in Agra hotel, depart for Jaipur. On the way to Pink City of Rajasthan, visit deserted Mughal town of Fatehpur Sikri where the 16th century monuments exist in a nicely preserved condition, full of fortified palaces and mosques. Thereafter, drive towards Jaipur. Again on the way to the capital city of Rajasthan, stop at Abhaneri village, 77 kms prior Jaipur in Dausa district. The ancient village of Abhaneri was capital city of Gurjar kingdom of King Mihir Bhoj. Abhaneri offers opportunity to see 8th century AD Chand Baori and Harshat Mata temple. Continue your drive and on reaching Jaipur, check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5

Jaipur city tour

Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan and nick-named as Pink City, is known for its grandiose forts, royal palaces, beautiful temples, colorful bazaars, unique crafts, amazing culture and lively way of life. After breakfast in the hotel, in the company and guidance of a professional guide, proceed on for exploring numerous facets of cultural legacy and architectural heritage of Jaipur, a city representative of Rajasthan and its legacy. The sightseeing will begin by visiting Amber Fort and reaching its main gate at hilltop on the back of an elephant. Explore Rajput architecture with several palaces, courtyards, temple, moat, garden, tunnels etc. Amber was original seat of royal power and one of the most beautiful buildings of Rajasthan. The fortress of Amber, since the twelfth century, was the citadel of the Kachwahas and remained their capital until Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II transferred the capital to Jaipur. The Mughal influence is evident in the open pavilions and the newly-planted gardens with canals and fountains. The courtyards are surrounded by luxurious palaces, courtrooms and private apartments decorated with mirrors and mosaics. Early noon, return to city centre from Amber, on the way taking photographs of Jal Mahal. The city centre of Jaipur is studded with three iconic monuments- City Palace, Jantar Mantar (a solar observatory) & Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Visit the Hawa Mahal was built in 1799 with its 953 small windows and balconies. Visit the City Palace where you can admire the Maharajas’ outfits. The room also presents a compilation of musical instruments. Further on, the Maharani Palace houses one of India's finest collections of Hindu and Mughal weapons, with daggers with jade handles encrusted with rubies and emeralds set with gold. On the walls, pictures taken by the maharaja himself, reflect the Jaipur of the nineteenth century. Jantar Mantar, a solar observatory, is adjacent to City Palace and still in working condition. Enjoy shopping in Jaipur and attend Aarti in Govind Dev Ji Temple. Overnight stay will be in the hotel.

Day 6

Jaipur- Aurangabad (by flight)

Having enjoyed breakfast in Jaipur hotel, you will be transferred in-time to Jaipur airport to board flight for Aurangabad. Aurangabad is a city in Maharashtra, the base town for visiting Ajanta and Ellora cave temples and chapels. On arrival at Aurangabad, you will be received by our representative and transferred to the hotel to spend evening in leisure and have overnight stay there.

Day 7

Ajanta Ellora tour – Mumbai (by flight)

Today you have to visit two distantly located historical and archaeological gems of Ajanta & Ellora rock cut temples and chapels. After breakfast, the drive to Ajanta will start early, along with Ajanta Ellora tour guide. It will take about 2 hours to reach Ajanta. Ajanta consists of 29 rock cut caves. All these caves are of the Buddhists. Ajanta contains magnificent paintings dating from 200 BC to 650 AD. After exploration of Ajanta cave temples, depart for Ellora. On arrival at Ellora, have lunch in a nice restaurant and thereafter proceed on for sightseeing of Ellora cave temples. Ellora consists of 36 cave temples. What is really crazy is that these caves have been cut by hand. Some are not actual caves but rock-cut structures, like the Kailash Temple (or Kailasa) in Ellora, which is the world's largest monolithic structure! The Ellora Caves were carved between the 6th AD and 11th AD after Ajanta was abandoned. The Ellora caves are a mixture of Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism. Leisurely see every aspect of Ellora cave temples’ art, architecture and design. After visiting Ellora, you will be driven to airport to board flight for Mumbai. On arrival at Mumbai, you will be received and transferred to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 8

Mumbai tour- Departure

An air-conditioned vehicle will pick you up early at your hotel and drive you to the India Gate where you will board a motorboat for Elephanta Island. The trip will take about 1 hour. You will be accompanied by a local English-speaking guide during this visit. Visit the Elephanta cave temples, part of UNESCO World Heritage. See the main cave with many sculptures of Lord Shiva in various positions. Do not miss the famous sculpture representing Trimurti Shiva with three heads, symbol of the Creator, Savior and Destroyer. See also the carved panels and sculptures of various other gods and goddesses and listen to your guide who will tell you more about the history of the caves. Come back from Elephanta and visit attractions of Mumbai. First attraction is the Gateway of India, an iconic landmark. This archway of yellow-arched basalt was built on the sea front in 1942 to commemorate the visit of King George V to India. It is a favorite meeting place for locals and visitors and boat rides start from there. Next stoppage is Jain Temple, built in 1940, is dedicated to the first Tirthankar. Hanging Gardens are built over Malabar Hill. These picturesque gardens are often very crowded. You will have splendid views of the city and the sea from this place. Another attraction of Mumbai is Chowpatty, one of the famous beaches of Mumbai. There are vendors of street food. It's a popular meeting place for people. Mani Bhawan, another must-visit place, is the building where Mahatama Gandhi stayed during his visits to Mumbai between 1917 - 1943. Today, it is a museum where you can see photographs of Gandhi's life. During the course of sightseeing pass by the Afghan Church and the Government Secretariat of Maharashtra along the beautiful Marine Drive also called "Queen's Necklace" because of its shape.
