Delhi to Agra (210kms/ 04 hrs-by car)
The 3rd day of Golden Triangle with Udaipur Tour takes you to Agra. Agra with 1.2 million inhabitants is one of the main cities in the state of Uttar Pradesh located 200 km from Delhi. The present Agra was founded under the Mughal era in 1566 by Akbar as his capital. Under the reign of Shahjahan, the splendor of the city reached its apogee. Aurangzeb transferred the capital to Delhi. The city was conquered in 1761 by the Jats and in 1779 by the Marathas. In 1803 it was occupied by the English. It is here that you will find the Taj Mahal, a miracle in itself and is considered as one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
You will embark on a short journey (210 kms/ 04 hrs) to Agra which is famous for world renowned Taj Mahal. On arrival in Agra, you shall be taken to the pre-designated hotel. Check in at the hotel, relax for some time and set out for sightseeing of Agra. Depending upon whether it’s Friday or other weekdays, your visit to Taj Mahal will be either conducted today or tomorrow. The sightseeing of Agra includes Taj Mahal, Agra Red Fort and Tomb of It-mad-ud-Daula. Later in the evening, you can visit local flourishing market which is famous for handicrafts and marble products.
Here also a visitor has two options. He can either see Taj Mahal today during early noon, soon after arrival in Agra, or may visit Taj Mahal during sunrise next day, depending upon his/ her choice. Overnight stay is planned in Agra hotel.
