Day 5
Jaipur city tour
Jaipur is the capital city of the desert state of Rajasthan. The kingdoms of Rajasthan are a great legacy in history. Rajasthan is a land full of invincible forts,
magnificent palaces, landscapes of dunes and serene lakes. Jaipur is also called as Pink City, so named because of the color of the stone used in the vast majority of
its buildings. After breakfast, proceed on an excursion to the Amber Fort. Ascending to its main gateway (locally called ‘pol’) on the back of an elephant will be an
exotic India experience. Watch Amber Fort from close quarters and admire the palaces, courtyards and lobbies of this magnificent palace, which still retains all the
splendor of the past. Return to Jaipur city centre to watch the City Palace and Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory. First visit the City Palace that houses
a fabulous collection of weapons, paintings, manuscripts, royal costumes and other objects from the time of the Maharaja. Adjoining the City Palace is Jantar Mantar,
a solar observatory, built in 1728. The last iconic monument of the cluster is Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds, a stone-built façade to allow royal ladies to see
market and processions without being seen themselves. Explore the market known for jewellery, crafts, carpets, leather goods, printed clothes etc. Late afternoon,
you will be shown Birla Temple. Attend aarti and return back to hotel for overnight stay.
