Vishwanath Temple is almost similar to Kandariya Mahadeo temple as far as layout plan is concerned. Lions & elephants flank stairsteps to the temple from north to south. The exteriors are richly carved. Facing the shrine is a temple of Nandi with a massive, 6 m high Nandi Bull. The large central groups of the outside are like those of the other temples, purposely exposing their deities. Outside, there are the usual three bands of sculptures immediately above the plinth, and the same profuse accumulation of mouldings, sculptures and pinnacles as in the Kandariya Mahadev Temple. Altogether there are 602 statues from 2 inches to 2 feet in height, in the different ranges of sculpture of this gorgeous temple.
