Chitragupta Temple is a unique temple dedicated to Surya, the Sun God. The temple has the image of the Sun-God driving a seven-horse chariot. Its structure is similar to that of the Jagadamba Temple that has garbhagriha , mahamandapa, ardhamandapa and side transepts but no ambulatory inside. It is nevertheless much more imposing. Its exterior walls present among the most beautiful erotic sculptures as well as an eleven-headed Vishnu placed in a niche on the south facade. An image of Vishnu with ten extra heads representing his ten incarnations too is very fascinating. The external walls depict interesting scenes of hunting, royal processions, dance performances and elephant-fight. In this temple the sun has been shown riding on a Rath of seven horses. These seven horses are representation of seven colours in sunrays. The artistic structure of the temple is also attractive.
