Day 1

Delhi arrival.

After arrival in Delhi, a warm reception awaits at the airport and transfer to the Delhi hotel. Delhi - a lively city with a population of 16 million, almost perfectly coexisting between antiquity and modernity, more commonly called Old Delhi and New Delhi, sometimes surprises and disconcerts the traveler. The many monuments that date back 500 years and more, parks, modern shopping centers, the multitude of markets, the exotic atmosphere, its multiple diversities make Delhi one of the jewels of India. Our representative will ensure smooth check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2

Tour Delhi

After breakfast, Delhi tour will commence, accompanied by a knowledgeable, experienced and professional guide. Delhi is usually the first city to be explored during a visit to the Golden Triangle. Perched on the banks of the Yamuna, Delhi is the national capital and a sprawling metropolis city of India. This city, offering shelter to people belonging to different parts of India, has been the capital of many leaders and empires since the ages. Today, it houses a wide range of historic buildings, monuments and tombs. Some of the best attractions that one can visit in Delhi include Raj Ghat, Qutub Minar, Parliament, India Gate, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Chandani Chowk, Akshardham Temple, etc. Later in the evening return to Delhi hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3

Delhi – Jaipur (by car- 265 km/ 05 hrs)- explore Jaipur

After breakfast, depart to Jaipur, the pink city of Rajasthan. On arrival at Jaipur, you will be transferred to the pre-booked hotel. Jaipur, a wonderful city, is also known as the royal city of India. The city was home to the Maharaja Jai Singh of Jaipur. This tourist town has a lot of renown and importance in India because of the wonderful palaces, forts, bazaars and its pink color.

Jaipur is a beautiful mix of colors, dances, songs and many traditional arts. A city of harmonious urban architecture with wide avenues and narrow streets, Jaipur was built in the 18th century. It is called "the pink city" because of its buildings painted in the colors of flamboyant sunset. It is also original for its different designs. The palace and forts, which were formerly the domains of kings, are today among the modern monuments, which form a delightful combination. After lunch, proceed to visit City Palace, Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar (Yantra Mandir) with local guide.

Visit Hawa Mahal "the Palace of Winds" one of the most famous monuments in Jaipur. All that remains is the facade. This five-storey building was built for ladies of the royal family to watch the processions and the daily life of the city being out of sight. The City Palace is located in the center of the old town, consisting of a large complex of buildings, gardens, terraces. It is also an interesting museum. Next to the palace, Jantar Mantar, the astronomical observatory, was built by Raja Jai Singh, more interested in astronomy than in war.

Explore colourful bazaar after sightseeing. Early evening, you will attend AARTI at Govind Dev Ji Temple. Later, in the evening, return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4

Jaipur tour

The second city covered during North India Heritage Tour is Jaipur, the pink city, renowned for its splendid palaces, forts and colorful culture. Studded with many imposing structures, Jaipur offers visitors a chance to enjoy the unique culture of the land and meet joyful people wearing multicolored dresses and suits. A full day sightseeing tour of Jaipur will include visiting Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Panna Meena Ka Kund, Central Museum (Albert Hall) and Birla Temple. The Amber Fort on the outskirts of the city is located at the top of a hill that will allow you to experience the journey on the back of elephants as in times of kings. You will be enjoying elephant ride at Amber Fort and attend AARTI at Birla Temple. Later, in the evening, return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5

Jaipur – Abhaneri- Fatehpur Sikri - Agra (by car- 245 km/ 05 hrs)

After exploring Jaipur, the next city in the North India Heritage Tour Itinerary is Agra. On the way to Agra, visit Abhaneri, a historical village with several monuments and sculptures; and Fatehpur Sikri, a deserted medieval era township housing clusters of various monuments within its fold. Known as the city of ghosts - Fatehpur Sikri was built by Akbar in the 16th century to serve as the capital of the vast kingdom. 13 years later it was abandoned for mysterious causes. On arrival at Agra, check in at the hotel to spend evening in leisure and have overnight stay.

Day 6

Agra tour

Agra is a city that reaches immense fame in the world due to legendary Taj Mahal, built by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife. The town is also home to some of other World Heritage sites, including Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri, all built during the Mughal period. Agra is an important site for travel to India as it is a place where the essence of love reigns. Known under the reigns of the Mughal emperors, "Taj City" was once the capital of the Mughal kingdom. Passionate about architecture, the Mughals have built the most impressive monuments in the world. Agra is an ancient city whose origin comes from Agrabana, a forest mentioned in the Mahabharata. Sikandar Lodi (1488-1516), made it the capital.

Visit the Taj Mahal, a place full of poetry, this famous Mughal mausoleum is built in white marble in the middle of flower gardens. It is a combination of different styles of architecture - described as being the greatest monument built by love. Your visit includes the Agra Fort made in the 16th century. It is located near the Yamuna River, almost in the center of the city. Akbar built the citadel between 1565 and 1573.

You will also visit Tomb of It-Mad-ud-Daulah, Baby Taj and Mehtab Bag for sunset view of Taj Mahal. Later, in the evening, return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 7

Agra –Gwalior- Orchha (220 kms)

After breakfast, drive to Gwalior. The city of Gwalior is located in the state of Madhya Pradesh. It is the city of the kings Scindias. It is famous for its majestic fort, considered one of the best in the world. This imposing fort overlooks the city. It has witnessed the rise and fall of many dynasties throughout the centuries. The main palace, Man Mandir was once a decor of mosaics. It still has his sculptures and has kept intact the nine century old art. Its cells show a strong image of the lives and deaths of Mughal prisoners. This fort was described by Babur as "the pearl of all the forts of Hind". Visit the Gwalior Fort perched on a hill, the museum, the Rani Laxmibai Memorial and the Tansen Tomb. After visiting Gwalior, drive to Orchha. On arrival at Orchha, check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 8

Orchha - Khajuraho (180 Kms / approx. 4 hours)

The city of Orchha is located in the central part of India. It was once the capital of the Bundela rulers. Lesser known than others, it has a beautiful complex of palaces and temples dating from the sixteenth century. Thousands of pilgrims come to visit the temple of Rama. There are many sites dedicated to the memory of various saints and gods. Each temple has its monument, its own history and each one is important because the whole characterizes Orchha. After breakfast , the day begins with a tour of the city. Visit Orchha Fort Palace complex that comprises Jahangir Mahal, Rai Praveen Mahal, the temple Chaturbhuj and Chhattris near the river Betwa.

Next on the North India Heritage Tour itinerary comes Khajuraho, the world famous city for erotic temples. Early afternoon, drive to Khajuraho. On arrival at Khajuraho, check in at the hotel. In the evening, see cultural show in temple compound. Later, return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 9

Khajuraho tour- Varanasi (by air)

Khajuraho was located far from the main political centers of India during the medieval period, and thus remained intact by Muslim invaders. The fine sculptures in the temples that depict life in the sky also tells about the people and society of that time who believed in enjoying their lives to the fullest before heading for the path of nirvana. In addition to Western Group of Khajuraho temples, a visitor, if time permits, should also visit Parasvanath Temple and Adinath Temple. Visit famous temples of Khajuraho along with local guide after breakfast in the morning. Early noon, you will be departed to airport to board flight for Varanasi. On arrival at Varanasi, you are received, transferred to hotel for slight relaxation and then taken to Dashashwamedh Ghat to partake in majestic Ganga Aarti. Later, return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10

Varanasi tour

North India Heritage Tour will continue with a visit to Varanasi. Boasting a picturesque location on the right bank of the sacred Ganges, Varanasi is an ancient city and religious center for the Hindus in India. Among the most amazing experiences for international tourists in Varanasi is the visit of cremation ghats and sites near the banks of the Ganges. A morning boat trip is the best way to enjoy watching hordes of bathing people in the ghats. Varanasi also offers many other tourist attractions, the best being Daswamedh Ghat, Benares Hindu University (BHU), Bharat Mata Temple, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Durga Temple etc. The ancient Buddhist monuments in Sarnath, located a few miles from Varanasi, remind us of the Buddha period. The Buddhist temple, Sarnath Musuem, and stupas are the main attractions of Sarnath. Having explored Varanasi for the whole day, you will be transferred to Varanasi airport to board flight for Delhi.
