Bhopal has since several thousand of years been cradle of rich and flourishing Hindu civilization. The kings of ancient India built several temples, forts and palaces here but were destroyed by the Muslim invaders in 17th century. The resistance to this barbarism continued and the result to that is that several newly built temples exist along with various tombs and mosques. Laxmi Narayan Temple and Manua Bhan Tekri are one of those famous temples, representing Nagar style of temple architecture.
