It is located about 15 kms away on Bhopal-Bairasia road. It was known by the name of Jagdishpur in 4th century. In the first decade of the 18th century, it was conquered by Sardar Dost Mohammad Khan who was the founder of the Nawabi rule in Bhopal. He made it his capital and then it was named as Islam Nagar. The remnants of Islam Nagar Fort are still available.
