Located at a beautiful site of Shyamla hills, this center has unique models of science. There is a science park, recreation gallery, planetarium, discovery gallery, reaction center and many more galleries, where the children are attracted to improve their scientific skills for invention. Working models of scientific principals can be seen here. Regional Science Center is spread in an area of 5 acres. It was inaugurated by late President of India Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma on 12th January 1995. The center presents scientific principles lying in simple happening of our surrounding. For instance, in the discovery gallery it is shown, how a gramophone works, who made use of the steam engine, how the quartz watch shows the correct time, how the message is sent through optical fibers, what is the constitution of an atom and how electroplating is done etc. The center is closed on Monday. On other days, it is open from 11:30am to 7:00pm. The entry fee is Rs 2:00. There is a separate fee for seeing the planetarium. No fee is charged for the kids below the age of 5 years. For groups of school students and teachers, there is a concession of 50% in the entry charges.
