As the Bada Bagh cremation ground in Jaisalmer is meant for the royal family members of Bhatti clan,
similarly Vyas Chhatri is located in the area meant for the cremation of the Brahmins. The Vyas Chhatri, raised on a platform, is built
of yellow sandstone with beautifully chiseled pillars. It is located in a cremation ground of the Brahmins in the north of
Jaisalmer Fort. Immaculate & intricate carvings, umbrella shaped domes and fine etching on the pillars deserve serious visit. It is also famous as ‘Sunset Point’. The wonders of nature make it even more gorgeous. It’s best to be present at Vyas Chhatri during evening to behold the sun set when the orange light shines through the sand. Watching the sunset in its prettiest form, the place is an ideal location. The best time to visit is from October to March. Most of the visitors come here to pay homage to the great Sage and have beautiful view of sunset. It can be visited after paying entry fee.
