Prayagraj Kumbh Mela Bathing Dates

The Kumbh Mela is the largest human gathering on the planet. This socio-religious fair offers deep peep into pristine Hindu culture, traditions and religious practices. The cities that host the Kumbha Mela are the scene. The beginning of the Kumbh Mela is marked with ceremonial parades suggesting official arrival of holy men, sitting on a wide variety of modes of transport - elephants, horses, camels, cars, palanquins, and wagons, sometimes pulled by men showing devotion. Generally, the Naga Sadhu Baba, the warriors of Shiva, are the first to march under a shower of petals, then each sect tries to overcome the others by the splendor of its procession. Though the Kumbh Melas are organized at four places (Prayag / Allahabad, Haridwar, Ujjain & Nasik) but Allahabad Kumbh Mela holds the prominence over others. Religious Hindus from all over India and visitors from across the globe throng at the confluence of three sacred rivers, the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati – the Triveni Sangam.
