, Khusroo Bagh etc. Triveni Sangam is the confluence of three holy rivers – Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati. The color of the water turns green when the waters of the three rivers meet. It is believed that bathing here ends all sins of a person's life. The world famous Kumbh Mela is held here every 12th year. Allahabad Fort, situated on the banks Triveni Sangam, was built by Akbar. It houses Akshayavat tree, Patalpuri Temple and Saraswati Kup, considered to be the source of the River Saraswati. Bade Hanuman Ji Temple is adjacent to Allahabad Fort. There is a 20 feet tall and 8 feet wide statue of Lord Hanuman in the temple. Anand Bhawan in Allahabad was built by Motilal Nehru in 1930. It was the residence of the Nehru family, which has now been turned into a museum. Mahatma Gandhi also stayed on its second floor.
