Prayagraj tour - Departure
Prayagraj is an ancient city with immense religious significance for the Hindus since time immemorial. Known as the land of Lord Vishnu, Prayagraj is located on the banks of Ganga & Yamuna. It is famous for Triveni Sangam (confluence of holy rivers Ganga and Yamuna and mythical Saraswati), Kumbh Mela , Magh Mela , Akshay Vat, Bharadwaj Ashram etc. In 16th century, Mughal ruler Akbar changed its name to Allahabad. Recently, Government of Uttar Pradesh, led by Yogi Adityanath, has rechristened it again as Prayagraj.
After breakfast, you will be taken to Triveni Sangam. Take holy dip and perform religious rituals. Allahabad Fort overlooks the Sangam. Within the fort are Akshay Vat and Patalpuri Temple. During Magh Mela & Kumbh Mela, pilgrims are allowed to enter Allahabad Fort to visit the holy tree and temple. Nearby the ramparts of the fort is located Bade Hanuman Ji Temple. Visit the temple, have ‘darshan’ and do worship of Lord Hanuman. Thereafter, visit Mankameshwar Temple, established by "Aadi Guru Shankaracharya". After offering prayer and 'puja' in Mankameshwar Temple, move for visiting Anand Bhawan. Anand Bhawan has been famous for being birth place of Indira Gandhi and home of Nehru Gandhi family. The place has been witness of several secret meetings of Congress leaders to chalk out strategies to evict the British from India. Now-a-days, it has been converted into a museum. This place remains closed on Monday.
After sightseeing of Prayagraj, you will be transferred to railway station / airport for your onward journey.
