Day 1

Delhi - Varanasi (by flight)

Early in the morning you will be transferred to New Delhi airport to board Varanasi-bound flight. Welcome to Benares, the holy city of Lord Shiva, famous for its ghats on the banks of the Ganges, the most sacred river of Hinduism. Our representative will greet you at the airport and ensure transfer to the hotel. Getting refreshed, proceed on for Sarnath tour with Varanasi tour guide. Sarnath, a Buddhist pilgrimage, is known for Buddhist era (6 century BC) & Mauryan time monasteries and stupas, razed by the intolerant Muslims. Sarnath also has a museum where you will find historically, culturally and sculpturally important artefacts. It was Sarnath where Buddha delivered his first sermon. Visit the archaeological museum which includes magnificent sculptures including the famous pillar of Ashoka, symbol of India.

Late afternoon, after visiting Sarnath, proceed for attending Ganga Arti ceremony at Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi. Board a boat to see the ceremony of Aarti while floating in the Ganges. At sunset, the pilgrims pay tribute to the gods by letting innumerable lamps/candles float on the river. Later return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2

Varanasi tour – New Delhi (by flight) - Departure

Early in the morning, a boat trip at sunrise is scheduled. The morning boat ride in the Ganges along the ghats of Varanasi is the most coveted activity to have a glimpse of real Benares. Return to the hotel and have breakfast. Post breakfast, you will be taken on a heritage walk through the narrow alleys of Varanasi. During the walk in the old town, you will see the mosque of Aurangzeb, built in the 17th century after demolishing out of religious vengeance the most venerated Hindu temple of Lord Shiva- the Vishwanath Temple. Just adjacent to the mosque is re-built Vishvanath Temple. This temple is also called as Kashi Vishvanath and Golden Temple of Varanasi. From the terrace of a neighboring building you can see the Temple of Gold (entrance reserved for Hindus), the most sacred among the temples of Benares, whose roofs are covered with 800 kg of gold, donated by Punjab king Maharaj Ranjit Singh. See the exterior of the temple of goddess Durga, dating from the late nineteenth century. Walk along the river where one can see the most diverse scenes and where one feels most intensely the life of the city where religious fervor and joyful carelessness mingle. Then, explore Benares Hindu University and visit Tulsi Manas Temple and Bharat Mata Temple. After sightseeing of Varanasi and ensuing market exploration, you will be transferred to the airport to board New Delhi-bound flight.

Cancellation Terms:

50% cancellation if cancelled within 45 days.

75% cancellation if cancelled within 30 days.
