Best Time to Visit Bikaner

Bikaner, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Rajasthan, is known as the city of desert and dessert. Winter season is normally considered the best time to visit Bikaner. Bikaner is famous for camel safaris, delicious delicacies, gigantic forts, beautiful palaces, enchanting temples etc. Red and yellow sandstone dominates the city’s landscape. Bikaner is the home of the famous Camel Corps, still most useful in desert warfare. Outside the city are other places and temples — imposing edifices of carved red sandstone. Jain temples and monasteries abound in this city and neighbourhood. Most of them early 16th century, they are rich in carvings. At the outskirts of the city are the chhatris, cenotaphs of the rulers of Bikaner. Tourists in large number reach Bikaner to explore the vibrant culture, rich heritage and enchanting architecture.

Visiting Bikaner during Winter Season: The best time to visit Bikaner is during winter, which runs from October to March. The mornings and evenings are cool and fresh but the days are warm and sunny. The pleasant weather makes winter the most appropriate season to explore Bikaner, Rajasthan. In January, you can also witness the famous two-day Camel Fair. Camel safaris to have a deeper peep into desert lifestyle are conducted in winter only. The minimum temperature drops to 4° Celcius and the day time temperature rises up to 23° Celcius.

Visiting Bikaner during Monsoon Season: Towards the end of June the rains come and the monsoons last until the end of September. The weather remains unpredictable. The weather remains humid but the climate remains relatively cooler compared to the summer season. Therefore, day time can be utilized for sightseeing. The minimum temperature drops to 25° Celcius and the day time temperature rises up to 35° Celcius.

Visiting Bikaner during Summer Season: The summer season commences from April and continues till the end of June. The minimum temperature drops to 26° Celcius and the day time temperature varies between 38° Celcius to 46° Celcius. The visitors are advised to do their sightseeing in the early morning or late afternoon. Summer season, due to inclement weather conditions and climate, is not the best season to visit Bikaner.
