Rani Laxmi Bai is an icon for India’s freedom fighters. She martyred fighting against the British to protect the sovereignty of her kingdom and resisting their march into India’s heartland. She provided exemplary leadership during India’s First Freedom Struggle against the British in 1857. The shrine is symbol of the respect the Indians towards her great and courageous contribution in India’s freedom. The shrine is constructed at the same place where she succumbed to the injuries. There is a statue of the Queen made of an alloy of 8 metals. The tourists come to this place to dedicate a few floral tributes to the great warrior.
