How to Reach Chitrakoot

Reach Chitrakoot by Air : Chitrakoot can be reached by flight. The nearest airport to Chitrakoot is Bamrauli Airport in Prayagraj (130 km). Other airports to reach Chitrakoot Dham are Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (Varanasi/ 275 km) & Khajuraho Airport (175 km). The flights from all major cities of India land at these airports. After landing at the airport, hire taxi / cab to drive directly to Chitrakoot.

Reach Chitrakoot by Train : Located on Jhansi- Manikpur rail-track, Chitrakoot Dham Railway Station in Karwi tehsil is the nearest (8km) railhead to Chitrakoot town. It connects Chitrakoot with all major cities of India through rail network and makes the pilgrimage easily accessible to the tourists. Other nearby railheads are Mankipur Junction (35 km) and Satna Junction (75 km). The road connectivity & availability of taxis & buses between Chitrakoot & these railheads are excellent.

Reach Chitrakoot by Car : Chitrakoot Dham district in Uttar Pradesh is comprised of four towns - Chitrakut, Karwi, Sitapur and Tarauhan. There is a Chitrakoot tehsil in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. Chitrakoot region on both sides of the border are well connected through state highways and motor-able roads, particularly the National Highway NH 76. Regular buses ply from Prayagraj (125 km), Lucknow (285 km), Kanpur (285 km), Jhansi (275), Satna (75), Khajuraho (160 km) to Chitrakoot at regular intervals. One can hire taxi / cab to reach Chitrakoot by road.
