According to another legend, Raja Chand could also be King Bhoja, who ruled the kingdom of the Gurjars in the 9th century BC. The ruins of the temple bear witness to an architectural and sculptural style dating back to the 10th century.
An enormous reservoir, called the "Chand Baori", stands in front of the fortified temple with bastions at the four corners for defense. Although Abhaneri is now in ruins, this village is still a prime tourist attraction and route of several Rajasthan tour packages and Delhi-Agra- Jaipur circuits. The best way to get there is by road. It takes about two hours to explore the cultural heritage of this village.
