It is a semi circular motor garage that has its forecourt in the greater courtyard. Inside the area of the museum, there are original shell petrol pump which is still believed to be in a working condition. There are also garden hotel and restaurant, which are a property of HRH group of hotels.
The vehicles that are displayed in the museum are over 70 years old but still those are so well managed and taken care of that the vintage cars are still in working condition. It has 20 antique cars which has 4 Rolls Royce, 1 Ford – A – Convertible, 1 MG-TC Convertible, 2 Cadilacs, 1 Vauxhall 12, and several types of other rickshaws that are solar powered and other cars. These are some of the best antique and heritage cars of the past times. All the cars and the vibe of the whole museum are very well protected and one can feel the vintage vibes here. The colours of the cars are also are so rich that those look exquisite. In fact, in 2008, the Rolls Royce 20 HP of 1924 was awarded as the ‘Best of Class Category Vintage Classic in the Cartier Travel with Style Concours’. Few of these cars have been featured in the Hollywood movies as well.
This museum shows the royalty and the high standard of living of the Rajputs of that time. The premium cars that they used showed how much they loved luxury. The vintage car museum in Udaipur is located at a distance of 1.5 km from the Udaipur railway station on the Gulab Bagh road. It is just at the opposite gate of the Gulab Bagh Zoo entrance. The entry fee of the Vintage Car Museum Udaipur is INR 250 per person for adults and INR 150 per kid. It is open on all days from Sunday to Saturday from 9 am to 9 pm. The tourists can visit the place and explore it fully. Along with the car museum and the shell petrol pump, there is also a quaint café for the people to enjoy. In rarest cases, some of the descendants of the Royal family ride some of these cars and that sight is something not to miss. The garden restaurant also serves a sumptuous Rajasthani thali which is an experience on its own. The best part of the museum exploration is that the cameras are allowed so the photographers can click as many pictures as they would want to. However, the best time to visit Udaipur is from October to March because the weather is great at that time. It is a fancy place for the history buffs in all means.
