To the east of the beautiful city of Dungarpur is Udai Bilas Palace, the residence of the Royal family of Dungarpur named after Maharawal Udai Singh II, a great patron of art and architecture. Maharawal Udai Singh built a bluish gray stone wing "Pareva" dominating the lake and "Ek Thambia Mahal" (literally a pillared palace), representing intricate carved pillars and panels, ornate balconies, balustrades in parentheses windows, arches and marble frieze carving a true marvel of Rajput architecture.
