The former name of Bhadrajun was 'Subhadrarjun. It bore the name of Devi Subhadra and one of the five Pandavas, Arjun. It is said that the both Subhadra and Arjun married here, after departing from Dwarika. The traces of the same are found at Dhumda Mata Temple in the village which is dedicated to the goddess Subhadra. Bhadrajun is not only a tourist destination but also a favourite place for historians to delve deep into thousands of years old Hindua/ Indian civilization and culture. It is beautifully located in the valley exactly behind the hill.
