Alwar , a historical place, is known for its natural beauty and flora and fauna. It’s home to several historical monuments like fort, palace, temples etc. About 170 km from Delhi lies the historical and architectural city of Alwar amidst Aravalli hills, surrounded by thick forests and lakes. Maharaja Pratap Singh wrested Alwar from the Mughals and founded his own state in 1770 AD. Alwar has many monuments of tourist interests. Mention is found in the Mahabharata of the Pandavas who spent the thirteenth year of their exile at Bairath as Alwar.
