   Delhi-Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary-Jim Corbett National Park -Haridwar-Rishikesh

8 Days North India Birding & Culture Tour is a trip covering Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, Corbett Tiger Reserve, Haridwar and Rishikesh. Though there are several jungles known for large variety birds but Keoladev Ghana National Park in Bharatpur (Rajasthan) and Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand are prominent among them. Both of the wildlife sanctuaries are explored thoroughly. The birding exploration takes place accompanied by a naturalist. Along with birding trail, two cultural destinations of India are also covered – Haridwar & Rishikesh. Haridwar is a sacred city and Rishikesh holds eminence for Yoga and meditation. The tour is meant for those tourists who are interested not only in birds but also having proclivity to enjoy cultural uniqueness of the land. Wildlife exploration, Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar and ‘ashram’ visit in Rishikesh are major highlights of North India Birding & Culture Tour.

Day 1

New Delhi – Bharatpur

On arrival at New Delhi international airport, you will be welcomed and driven directly towards Keoladev Bird Sanctuary, Bharatpur in Rajasthan. Reach Bharatpur late in the morning or early noon. Check in at the hotel. Take rest and spend the day in leisure as per your discretion. Overnight stay is scheduled in Bharatpur.

Day 2

Bharatpur bird sanctuary

Two manually-pulled rickshaw safaris - morning & evening – will be conducted. Explore the jungle leisurely and enjoy the nature. The whole day between the safaris are meant to either take rest or sally out to watch the jungle life – flora & fauna. While exploring Keoladev Ghana National Park, watch hundreds of bird species like Egyptian vultures, Dusky Eagle owls, spotted owlets, pelicans, night heron, Steppe Eagles, Yellow-footed Green Pigions, Sarus cranes. Another enchanting aspect of the park is that shy birds like sunbirds and kingfishers seem bold and frank here and may even pose for the camera shots! Overnight stay is scheduled in Bharatpur.

Day 3

Bharatpur bird sanctuary

Today too, manual rickshaw safaris - morning & evening – will take place. The bird sanctuary seems like a haven of quietness as there is no hustle-bustle of people and cars. Only walkers, rickshaws and bicycles are visible. Keoladev Ghana National Park serves as an excellent bird breeding and feeding ground. The earmarked treks can be traversed on either foot, or cycle or rickshaws. The rickshaw pullers are also well-versed with the territory and trained about the wildlife species, hence, serve as great guide for a tourist. Overnight stay is scheduled in Bharatpur.

Day 4

Bharatpur – Corbett National Park

After breakfast, depart for Jim Corbett National Park. It’s a bit long drive and takes almost 7 hours to reach the tiger reserve in Uttarakhand state of India. The national park boasts of diverse wildlife and breathtaking landscapes. The first national park of India, Jim Corbett Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the foothills of the Himalaya and spread over 520 sq km area. Home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, Jim Corbetts National park boasts of having 25 species of reptiles, dense forest, 580 species of birds (avians), grasslands, 50 species of mammals, rivers and more than 110 species of plants. The jungle is known for its amazing natural beauty. On arrival at the park, you will be transferred to the jungle resort to spend evening in leisure and overnight stay therein.

Day 5

Jim Corbett National Park

Get up early in the morning to proceed on for open Jeep Safari with a wildlife expert, called naturalist. The jeep takes you deeper into dense forest with high possibility to spot Royal Bengal Tiger. During the course of exploration of jungle, several species of plants, trees, birds, reptiles and mammals can be spotted. A lucky visitor, while meandering through open grasslands and dense forests, may also find an excellent chance of witnessing thrilling confrontations between tiger and other animals. After morning jeep safari, return to jungle lodge to refresh & relax. Spend rest of the day in leisure.

Day 6

Jim Corbett National Park

Today enjoy morning & evening jeep safaris. You may also opt for drive to Kosi River, instead of evening jeep safari, to enjoy few hours on the banks of the river, watching nature. Overnight stay is scheduled in Corbett resort.

Day 7

Corbett – Haridwar – Rishikesh

After breakfast, depart for Rishikesh. En route visit Haridwar, one of the Hindu pilgrimages. Haridwar is located on the banks of the holy River Ganga. The city is famous for Kumbh Mela, ashramas, temples, Ayurveda and Ganga-centric lifestyle and economy. Ganga Aarti (Ganga worship) in Haridwar at Har Ki Pauri, a historical ghat, is a prime tourist attraction. Attend the evening ‘aarti’ ceremony and drive towards Rishikesh. On arrival (only 15 kms from Haridwar), check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 8

Rishikesh - Departure

Rishikesh, a small town on the banks of River Ganga, is globally renowned as the worldwide capital of yoga and meditation. The spiritual town of Rishikesh is not only home to innumerable temples & ‘ashramas’ but also serves as gateway to the Himalayas. Rishikesh is a perfect destination to practice Yoga, exercise meditation and delve deep into spiritualism. Visit the banks of Ganga, watch daily religious way of life, explore famous ‘ashramas’ like Parmarth Niketan and observe saints & sadhus hither and thither. Post-lunch, drive back to New Delhi. On arrival at New Delhi, you will be transferred to airport to board flight for your onward destination.

Bandhavgarh-Jabalpur (by car)- New Delhi (by air) - Departure

After early morning breakfast in the hotel, our representative will meet you and give transfer to Jabalpur airport to board the flight for New Delhi. On arrival at New Delhi airport, again board a flight for your onward destination…

Cancellation Terms:

50% cancellation if cancelled within 45 days.
