Day 1

Delhi arrival

You will be welcomed in traditional Indian way on arrival at New Delhi international airport and transferred to Delhi hotel to relax, spend time in leisure and have overnight stay.

Day 2

Old & Central Delhi

The sightseeing of Delhi has been divided into two segments. The first segment will take you to explore Old & Central Delhi, characterized by Mughal & British colonial era monuments. After breakfast, you shall be introduced with your Luxury Golden Triangle Tour guide. Hence your exotic India journey starts with Optima Travels.

First and foremost, you shall be taken to Laxmi Narayan Temple and Gurudwra Bangla Sahib. These two religious monuments give you ample idea regarding Hindu & Sikh culture, architecture and humane ethos. Then, you shall head towards old Delhi.

Old Delhi tour includes exotic India experience in the form of manual rickshaw ride in 400 years old traditional market- Chandni Chowk. Red Fort, Chandni Chowk, Jama Masjid and Raj Ghat will be part of your Old Delhi tour itinerary. Red Fort of Delhi deserves special attention. The architectural development of Red Fort was initiated in 1526 by Shah Jahan. The Red Fort complex is different from other monuments in that it reflects Mughal architecture and planning, as well as the manner in which the British used the Red Fort for British army. Today, the Red Fort is a major tourist attraction in India and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Prime Minister of India addresses the nation on Independence Day (15th August) from the ramparts of Red Fort. The Red Fort is a veritable treasure house of magnificent buildings like gateways (Lahori Gate, Kashmiri Gate, Kabul Gate & Ajmer Gate), palaces (Mumtaj Mahal & Rang Mahal), Diwan-i-Khas and Diwan-i-Aam etc. The residential palace in Red Fort is designed as an imitation of paradise. The tour further takes you to Raj Ghat, a memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, one of the tallest figures during freedom struggle of India. Hereinafter, visit Akshar Dham Temple, an architectural gem and great representative of Nagar style of traditional temple architecture, and experience spiritual essence of India.

While returning to hotel, visit India Gate, a war memorial; President House, erstwhile viceroy’s residence and Parliament house. These three are British colonial era monuments and watched from a distance.

Day 3

New Delhi sightseeing tour

Delhi has been seat of rule of various dynasties in India. History of Delhi dates back to time of Mahabharata. At that time, Delhi was known as Indraprastha. Since time immemorial Delhi has been the centre stage of several empires, so Delhi is today a cornucopia of monuments. The monuments of Delhi are gift from past generations which speak about history, achievements and culture of India. Luxury Golden Triangle Tour takes you to monuments which are true representative of India, particularly Delhi.

Today, the guided sightseeing tour of New Delhi will comprise visits to Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Humayun's Tomb & Lodhi Garden. Qutub Minar complex showcases ancient India's prowess in metallurgy. About two thousand years old rust-free iron pillar is testimony to that. Qutub Minar reveals the architectural acumen prevalent in early medieval era.

Come back to your Delhi hotel in the evening for overnight stay.

Day 4

New Delhi - Jaipur

After breakfast, proceed for Jaipur, the fabled 'Pink City' of Rajasthan- the land of Maharajas (kings). Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan. On arrival, you will be greeted by our representative and taken to designated hotel to check in and relax. Late afternoon, you will attend evening worship ceremony (Aarti) in Govind Dev Ji Temple, established by the royal family of Jaipur. It will be an altogether experience with ample exposure to Hindu religious practices and ethos. Return to hotel to spend evening in leisure and have overnight stay.

Day 5

Jaipur tour

After breakfast, guided sightseeing tour of Jaipur will commence. You will be taken to Amber Fort in early hours of morning so that you can have Maharaja-like ride on an elephant from foothill to entrance gate of Amber Fort at the hilltop. Amber Fort is a must-see while on Jaipur tour. Built of sandstone and marble, Amber Fort comprises the niceties of Rajput and Mughal architecture. After visiting Amber Fort, return to Jaipur city wherein located Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Jal Mahal and bustling bazaars of Jaipur. Jal Mahal is a majestic palace built for royal family as a pleasure place. Various migratory birds reach here during winter season as the palace is built amidst the Man Sagar Lake. The Jal Mahal was once used for regal duck shooting parties.

Late afternoon, proceed on for visiting Chokhi Dhani. Chokhi Dhani will be an altogether new experience in terms of portraying various aspects of Rajasthani culture in vibrant village ambience. Having enjoyed cultural evening in Chokhi Dhani, return to hotel to have overnight stay.

Day 6

Jaipur – Fatehpur Sikri - Agra

Today, after breakfast & pleasant stay in Jaipur, on 6th day of Luxury Golden Triangle Tour, drive towards Agra, the seat of Taj Mahal. En route, stop at Fatehpur Sikri. Fatehpur Sikri is a must see tourist destination of every Golden Triangle tour itinerary. Fatehpur Sikri is home to still intact grand palatial buildings like Buland Darwaja, Jodha Bai Palace, Panch Mahal and Jama Masjid. Fatehpur Sikri was a small village but Akbar decided to shift Mughal capital to Fatehpur Sikri. So, a whole town of Fatehpur Sikri with mammoth and magnanimous architectural structures was built and inhabited; but due to paucity of drinking water for a large chunk of population, Akbar relocated the capital to Agra. Still, you can still see evidences of grand planning and execution. In the light of its historical backdrop, Fatehpur Sikri is called as deserted city. Buland Darwaja here is the largest gateway in the world.

After visiting Fatehpur Sikri, depart for Agra. On arrival at Agra, check in at the pre-booked hotel. Late afternoon, you will be taken to Mehtab Bagh across Yamuna to have splendid and picturesque view of Taj Mahal at the time of sunset. Photographers consider it as one of the rare opportunity.

Late evening, you will be taken to Kalakriti- a theatre where you will watch a show which showcases various aspects of Taj Mahal. The Kalakriti show is a theatrical drama, accentuated with audio-video inputs. Get immersed into catharsis experience of life-time.

Later, return to Agra hotel in the evening for overnight stay.

Day 7

Agra tour – New Delhi

Second day in Agra is very special and highly sought for. Today, you will be witnessing the world famous Taj Mahal, the epitome of love built in white marbles of Makrana. Taj Mahal changes its color as per movement of sun. The changing tinges make the beauty of Taj Mahal more captivating. But, the Taj Mahal looks most stunning at dawn hours. To make your visit a fulfilling experience, you shall be taken to Taj Mahal at the time of sunrise. Taj Mahal, one of the 'Seven Wonders of the World', is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Taj Mahal was conceived and built by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaj Mahal. Take your own time to view Taj Mahal.

After exploring Taj Mahal, return to hotel to refresh, relax and have leisurely breakfast. Post breakfast; proceed on to visit Agra Fort. Agra boasts of having two UNESCO World Heritage sites- Taj Mahal & Agra Fort. Present day Agra Fort, a fortress built of red sandstone, is result of contributions of Akbar, Jahangir & Shah Jahan. The history of Agra Fort, the then a brick fortress, goes back to Rajput rule of Agra, well before 10th century.

After visiting Agra Fort, explore local market. Enjoy free time by exploring Agra's rich heritage of handicrafts in its market. Hereinafter, depart for New Delhi. On the way, at the very outskirt of Agra, you will have a stop-over at Baby Taj (tomb of It Mad ud Daula). The tomb of It-Mad-ud-Daula is also built of white marble and was precursor to Taj Mahal.

Day 8

Delhi - Departure
