Day 1

Delhi arrival

Welcome to India. You will be received by our executive at the airport and given transfer to the pre-booked hotel in Delhi to have overnight stay therein. Our representative will ensure smooth check in at the hotel.

Day 2

Delhi – Delhi sightseeing – Khajuraho (by Sampark Kranti train)

Have delicious breakfast in Delhi hotel and proceed for sightseeing tour of Delhi accompanied by Delhi tour guide. The major attractions of Delhi are Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Akshardham Temple, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan and Qutub Minar. This visit will be self exploration. After full day exploration of Delhi, have dinner in a nice restaurant to be transferred to the railway station to board train for Khajuraho, a historical site in Madhya Pradesh. It will be a overnight journey.

Day 3

Khajuraho arrival & sightseeing

On arrival at Khajuraho, our representative ensures swift check in at the hotel. After getting refreshed, proceed for sightseeing of world famous temples of Khajuraho which are famous for their intricate carvings that ooze out passion, eroticism, dance, music and other finesses of creative arts depicted in sculpture and images. After visiting exceptionally sculptured temples of Khajuraho, explore the local town. In the evening, either see Sound & Light Show or enjoy cultural show. After that, have dinner in a nice restaurant, relax and have overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 4

Khajuraho – Varanasi (by air)

After scrumptious breakfast in Khajuraho hotel, you will be transferred in-time to the airport to board flight for Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. On arrival at Varanasi, our representative receives you at the airport to ensure speedy transfer to and smooth check in at the hotel. In the lobby of the hotel, you will be met by your Varanasi tour guide. Buddhist site Sarnath and evening Ganga Arti ceremony are on the chart of today’s sightseeing. Overnight stay is scheduled in Varanasi hotel.

Day 5

Varanasi sightseeing - Gaya

In the morning, at the time of sunrise, you will be taken to the Ganga River to have a boat cruise alongside the ghats of Varanasi. It offers mesmerizing view of traditional way of life of the people of Benares- ablution, bathing, washing clothes, religious rituals, cremation etc. After morning boat ride, return to hotel to be refreshed, have breakfast and again to proceed on for guided tour of Varanasi that comprises heritage walk in narrow alleys, Vishwanath Temple (Kashi Vishwanath), Durga Temple, BHU, Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple and Bharat Mata Temple. After sightseeing, you will be transferred to railway station to board train for Gaya. You will be reaching Bodhgaya during mid-night. On arrival at Gaya Junction, you will be received by our representative and transferred to Gaya hotel for overnight stay.

Day 6

Gaya –Nalanda – Rajgir & Pawapuri – Gaya

Having enjoyed breakfast in the hotel, depart in the morning to visit Nalanda and Pawapuri, religious and historical sites related to Buddhism and Jainism. First visit Nalanda, the site of ancient Buddhist monastery cum university that was burnt and razed by Muslim invaders. Nalanda was a famous seat of learning in ancient India like Taxila.The remnants of the then University of Nalanda have still been kept preserved here. The Nalanda was founded by Gupta rulers. Gautam Buddha and Mahavir Swami had also visited Nalanda several times. After visiting Nalanda, proceed to Rajgir, historical site in the state of Bihar.

Rajgir was earlier called as Rajagrih, meaning House of Royals. Rajgriha was capital of Magadha kingdom that emerged later on as Mauryan Empire. Tangibly proven history of Rajgir dates back to 1000 BCE as ceramics of that time has been excavated from here. Rajgir, as capital of Jarasandh, finds mention in Mahabharata. Akhada (place where martial arts are practiced) of King Jarasandh is still there. Rajgir is a prominent pilgrimage for the Buddhists and the Jains. Rajgir is located in the valley of Griddhakuta – Hill of Vultures. It is here Gautam Buddha delivered several sermons and initiated Bimbisar, king of Magadh, into Buddhism. In a cave here named Saptaparni, First Buddhist Council was organized. For Jainism also Rajgir holds tremendous importance as 24th Jain Tirthankara Mahavir Swami spent 14 years here. Nearby is Pawapuri, the place where Mahavir Swami was enshrined. A beautiful marble temple and sulphur spring are prime attractions.

After exploring glorious and rich historical and cultural legacy of India, return to Gaya to spend evening in leisure and have overnight stay therein.

Day 7

Gaya & Bodhgaya sightseeing – Bhubaneshwar (by Bhubneswar Rajdhani train)

Have delicious breakfast in Gaya hotel and early in the morning, you will be taken to religious, historical and traditionally revered temples and places to have a deeper peep into various aspects of Indian culture,its society and traditional practices. You will be visiting Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhi Tree and Vishnupad Temple. Having explored Gaya & Bodhgaya, have lunch in a nice restaurant and you will be transferred to Railway station in the afternoon to board train for Bhubaneshwar. Late night you will reach Bhubaneshwar. On arrival at Bubaneshwar railway station, you will be received by our representative and transferred to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 8

Bhubaneshwar – Puri – Konark - Bhubaneshwar

Have delicious breakfast in Bhubaneshwar hotel and depart for Puri and Konark, two extremely popular places replete with historical monuments with amazing architecture. Puri and Konark encapsulate the cultural legacy of Orissa. Jagannath Temple in Puri, Chandra Bhaga Beach, Konark Sun Temple and Pipili (the eplique village) are the main attractions to be explored. Set out for a journey off to Puri via Dhauligiri. You will traverse about 170 kms distance in a day long sightseeing and travel. Late in the evening, return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 9

Bhubaneshwar sightseeing

Have breakfast in hotel and proceed on for visiting famous and historical monuments in Bhubaneshwar, the capital of Orissa. Orissa was known as Kalinga in ancient India and Mauryan Emperor Ashoka had to fight a fierce battle to subjugate it in 3rd century BCE. Orissa has its own cultural lineage and school of architecture. Typical Kalinga temple architecture can be seen in the form of Mukteshwar Temple. It is considered as ‘Gem of Orissan Architecture’. The Lingraj temple of 11th century is the most famous and venerated temple of Bhubaneshwar. Udaigiri caves, belonging to Jain faith, date back to 2nd century BCE. In these 18 caves Jain Munis (saints) used to live. One can find several inscriptions of that era engraved on the stones. Another stop-over for exploration of the rich cultural legacy of Orissa is State Museum of Orissa. Later, in the evening, return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10

Bhubaneshwar – Kolkata (Bbs Jan Shatabdi -12074) – Kolkata exploration

Early morning, you will be transferred to Bhubaneshwar station to board Kolkata-bound train. Reach Kolkata in the noon. You will be picked up from Kolkata railway station and directly taken to Indian Museum, the richest museum in terms of its varied historical treasure. Spend few hours therein, exploring the gamut of diversity and richness of Indian culture and civilization. Later, in the evening, you will be transferred to Kolkata hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11

Kolkata sightseeing tour – Delhi (by flight)

After breakfast, continue for touring in and around the city Kolkata with our escort cum guide and visit some intriguing spots where general vacationer once in a while couldn't ready to go. Start the tour by visiting the imposing white marble Victoria Memorial, built by the British in 1921, modeled on the Taj Mahal offering tree-lined walks in splendid parks and houses a number of statues of eminent people including that of Queen Victoria. Then visit St Paul’s Cathedral, one of the most important churches of India with its impressive stained glass windows. Afterwards visit Dakshineswar Kali Temple and Belur Math - the Ramakrishna Mission’s movement’s international headquarters, was founded in 1899. The main temple in Belur Math incorporates the various architectural styles of the different religions of India. During the tour, depending upon the time-available, visit to Kumartuli, means Potter’s locality. ‘Kumor’ means Potter and ‘Tuli’ means locality. This area is located in the northern part Kolkata (Calcutta) City, very close to the river Bhagirathi. One of the earliest reference Kumortuli was found in Harry Evan Auguste Cotton’s (Mr. Cotton’s was a barrister, administrator, Journalist, Historians and writer) book ‘Kolkata Old & New’ and also in the Journal. End your tour with a photo-stop at the Howrah Bridge or the Rabindra Setu, also termed as the gateway of Kolkata, is one such structure which due to its grandeur and majestic appeal has been the face of Kolkata for over a century.

During the course of full day sightseeing of Kolkata, stroll around new market, experience the chaos of the hawkers, enjoy interaction and bargaining between the seller and the buyer. Witness the movement of mass gathering. Taste the flavour of local street food. Evening you may visit to different ethnic handicraft showroom or store, to purchase few curios or souvenirs for relatives and friends.

Later in the evening, you will be transferred to Kolkata airport to board flight for New Delhi. On arrival at New Delhi, you will be transferred to the pre-booked hotel for overnight stay.

Day 12

New Delhi-Kathmandu (by air)- Kathmandu exploration.

Have relaxed breakfast in New Delhi hotel and depart for Delhi airport to board flight for Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal. On arrival at Kathmandu airport- called Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be received by our representative.

Kathmandu is one of the most popular tourist destination enlisted in the World Heritage Sites. A brief introduction about the whole tour and Nepal will be given to you. With a history of approximate 2500 years, Kathmandu is a cosmopolitan cultural city as religious and cultural festivals form the major part of people's lives there. You will see the old history and modern development binding perfectly together offering the city an enchanting appeal for tourists. This afternoon, you will be taken on tour of the Swayambhunath Stupa, at the top of which has two giant Buddha eyes and eyebrows painted on. Later visit the Kathmandu's Kastamandap Durbar Square, a complex of ancient palaces. In the early 1970's, it was the center for hippies. You will also find a wonderful museum there.

Later in the evening, return to Kathmandu hotel for overnight stay.

Day 13

Kathmandu & Bhaktapur sightseeing

Have delicious breakfast in Kathmandu hotel and along with Kathmandu tour guide proceed to visit three prime attractions of Kathmandu- Pashupatinath Temple, Durbar Square and Boudhanath Stupa.

The Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most significant Hindu temples in the world. Located on the banks of Bagmati River in the east part of Kathmandu, the temples serve as the guardian deity of the Kathmandu Valley. There are many interesting legends about the temple and you could also see the last rites of Hindus. Then we will move to the Boudhanath Stupa. It is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Kathmandu. There are many Buddhists and Tibetan resident in the surrounding area.

After visiting Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhnath Stupa, continue driving eastward to the Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is famous for its rich culture, temple, and wood, metal and stone artwork. Bhaktapur is the only place in Nepal which has remained untouched by western culture. The sightseeing includes a charming Durbar Square with myriad temples and the ancient palaces now became museums. Post sightseeing, drive back to Kathmandu to be transferred to Kathmandu hotel. Overnight stay has been scheduled at Kathmandu.

Day 14

Patan City sightseeing tour - Kathmandu - Departure

After breakfast in Kathmandu hotel, you will be driven to Patan city, an ancient heritage city in the south-central part of Kathmandu Valley. Bagmati River separates Patan & Kathmandu. Cultural heritage, traditional Hindu & Buddhist way of life, enchanting craftsmanship and historical monuments are hallmarks of Patan. The four corners of Patan city are marked by four stupas. One of them was built by Mauryan Emperor Ashoka. Among the historical monuments, the most famous and noteworthy is the Durbar Square which houses the Krishna Temple, Golden Temple statues of bronze.

Having seen Patan city, proceed to Kathmandu. At the out skirts is Thamel. Thamel is a dense market that attracts budget travelers with economy lodging facilities. A stroll through the cluttered lanes is a lifetime experience. The restaurants here offer exotic and delicious cuisines at affordable price. Having explored, late afternoon, you will be transferred to Kathmandu airport to board flight for your onward destination.
