Day 1

Arriving Bangalore

On arrival, you will be received by the representative of Optima Travels and transferred to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2

Bangaluru sightseeing

After hearty breakfast at Bangalore hotel, proceed to visit rest of the sightseeing of Bangalore. Bangaluru, a metropolitan city with glorious past steeped into cultural richness, offers a vast variety of attractions to be explored. We provide guests two options of sightseeing to choose from – historical monuments & modern-era institutions/ buildings. The sightseeing of historical places will e ncompass Bangaluru Fort, Bangalore Palace, Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace & the Bull Temple. The other option includes HAL Aerospace Museum, NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences), Electronic City, ISKCON temple & Vidhana Soundh. Vidhana Soundh will be shown from outside and from a distance. After finishing Bangalore sightseeing, return to hotel to spend evening in leisure and have overnight stay.

Day 3

Bangaluru – Hassan

After breakfast in Bangaluru hotel, depart to Hassan, a modern district of Karnataka. On arrival at Hassan, check in at the pre-booked hotel. Hassan is a nodal place which serves as a convenient base to explore several interesting tourist places around. The places around Hassan like Halebid and Belur were prominent centres of Hoyasala rulers and, hence, possess even to this date the remnants of more than 150 ornately carved temples of 11th century. Hassan city though has least of heritage but Belur (40 kms) and Halebid (20 kms) are extremely rich in terms of ancient monuments. After relaxing a bit Hassan hotel, proceed for visiting Belur and Halebid. First you will be taken to Belur. Belur, about 40 kms from Hassan, is home to Channakeshava Temple & Viranarayana Temple.

Depending upon the time available, you will be shown Halebid. Around Hassan, about 20 kms away, lies ancient historical town of Halebid. Halebid, an ancient capital of the Hoyasala Empire, was founded in 11th century. In ancient literature, modern Halebid was known as Dwarsamudra. Hoyasaleswra Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is an important historical monument and its history dates back to 1121 AD. After visiting Belur and Halebid, later in the evening, return to Hassan hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4

Hassan - Mysore

After breakfast, proceed to Mysore. On arrival at Mysore, check in at the pre-booked hotel. Have lunch, relax for some time and move for visiting Mysore Palace. Mysore Palace, one of the largest palaces in India, is the prime tourist attraction of Mysore. The earlier version of Mysore Palace was wooden one and built in 1897. Later, when the palace got damaged by fire, the present day stone-built palace was constructed in 1912. Within Mysore Palace is Jaganmohan Art Gallery. Jaganmohan Palace was once a royal palace that has been converted into a museum and art gallery portraying diverse variety of paintings and miniatures of early 19th century. While it is a feast to your eyes during daytime, you will be completely mesmerized by the sight of the palace illuminated by over 98000 bulbs in the night.

Later on, explore local market known for its crafts, Mysore silk sarees and sandalwood products. Overnight stay is scheduled in Mysore.

Day 5

Mysore – Coonoor

After breakfast in Mysore hotel, depart for Coonoor. On arrival at Coonoor, a hill station in Tamil Nadu state of India, you will be transferred to designated hotel to check in. The whole day has been kept free for you leisure, relaxation and enjoying the nature.

Day 6

Coonoor sightseeing

After breakfast, explore major highlights of Coonnoor. Natural beauty and British era monuments like Tiger Cemetery and All Saints Church are major attractions. In addition to them, sprawling tea-estates and tea factory can be seen. A heritage train of colonial time also passes through Coonoor. Its ride is a lifetime experience (Optional). Stay in Coonoor hotel for overnight stay.

Day 7

Coonoor – Kochi

After breakfast, drive for Kochi (Cochin), the commercial capital of Kerala. On arrival at Kochi, check in at the hotel to spend evening in leisure and have overnight stay.

Day 8

Kochi sightseeing

After breakfast, move to visit major and salient tourist attractions of Cochin. The guided sightseeing tour of Cochin will include Jew Synagogue, Jews Town, Dutch Palace, Fort Kochi, Chinese Fishing Nets & St. Francis Church. After sightseeing tour of Cochin, explore local market. Do visit spice bazaar. Later, in the evening, return to Cochin hotel for overnight stay.

Day 9

Kochi – Kumarakom

From Kochi, having taken delicious breakfast, move for Kumarakom, highly popular tourist destination. On arrival at Kumarakom, check in at Kumarakom hotel/ resort. Kumarakom, situated on the banks of Vembanad Lake, is a small tourist hamlet, developed on reclaimed land from the lake. To add luxury to the entire trip, spend a day in one of the best Kerala resorts located right on the banks of the Vembanad Lake. Kumarakom has shot to fame among the tourists due to three reasons- a bird sanctuary on an island in Vembanad Lake, quite and serene beach of the lake and ever growing facilities of Ayurveda rejuvenation therapy. A visitor is suggested to indulge in Ayurvedic massage to get relaxed outright. The stay in Kumarakom is like one whole day in the laps of leisure and luxury. The day is free for leisure and overnight in Kumarakom hotel.

Day 10

Kumarakom - Thekkedy

Being the entrance to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Thekkady is most visited by the adventure-seekers willing to explore jungle life. Travel to Thekkady from Kumarakom that takes 03 hrs due to hilly terrain. Post breakfast, depart for Thekkady. On arrival at Thekkady, check in at the pre-booked hotel. The hotels & resorts near Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary at Thekkady offer themselves as the perfect base to check in and rest for a while before embarking on a wildlife sojourn across the woods. Thekkady is a well known wildlife sanctuary in Kerala and renowned for wild elephants, wild boar, leopards and of course tiger. Later, you will be cruising on the artificial lake of Periyar wildlife sanctuary to watch and observe the marvelous elephant herds and other wildlife species. Day 11

Thekkady – Madurai

Have scrumptious breakfast and drive for Madurai. It will take about 4 hours to reach Madurai. On arrival at Madurai, you will be transferred to the pre-booked hotel. Considered as the holy city of south India, Madurai is home to probably best of the temples. After checking in at Madurai hotel, relax a bit. After some time, depart for exploring Madurai along with the tour guide. The Madurai tour guide will be introduced with you in the hotel. The sightseeing tour includes three prominent monuments – Tirumalai Nayak Mahal, Vaniyur Mariamman Teppakulam and Meenakshi Temple. After visiting monuments, primarily temples and palace, explore local market/ bazaar. If possible, do attend evening worship ceremony of the deity in a temple. Later, in the evening, return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 12

Madurai – Thanjavur - Tanjore sightseeing tour

After four hours of drive, arrive at Tanjore to check in at the designated hotel. Thanjavur district is the rice bowl of Tamil Nadu. The Brihadeeshwar Temple (built during reign of Rajendra Chola) and Nayakas Palaces are prime tourist attractions. Relax a bit and move for short sightseeing of Tanjore. Having seen magnificent Tanjore Palace and Brihadeeswara Temple, explore local market and places of your interest. Thereafter, return to Tanjore hotel for overnight stay.

Day 13

Thanjavur – Trichy – Thanjavur

Having enjoyed breakfast, you will be taken to historical city of Trichy or Trichirapally. Trichy is a historical as well as cultural city of Tamil Nadu. On arrival at Trichy, proceed for sightseeing of Tiruchirapally which is situated on the bank of river Kaveri. Srirangam & Rangnathar are prime most tourist attractions. Having seen and explored Trichy, return to Tanjore to spend evening in leisure and have overnight stay.

Day 14

Thanjavur – Pondicherry

After breakfast, depart for Pondicherry. On arrival, check in at Pondicherry hotel. Having relaxed for a while, proceed on for exploring Pondicherry, previously a French colony and now a Union Territory of India. It is an exotic destination showcasing a unique mélange of French and Indian cultures. Pondicherry symbolizes the French influence in India. You shall be taken to Arvind Ashrama, Auroville, old churches and serene beaches of Pondicherry. Auroville will definitely be an exotic place for you as the ambience of sheer spiritualism will engulf you. After leisurely exploration, return to Pondicherry hotel for overnight stay.

Day 15

Pondicherry – Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram

After enjoying breakfast, depart for Mahabalipuram via Kanchipuram. Chennai, Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram together form Golden Triangle circuit of Tamil Nadu. As you reach Kanchipuram, the tour guide will contact you & conduct Kanchipuram sightseeing tour. Kanchipuram, with historical legacy of more than 3000 years, is one of the seven holiest pilgrimages of the Hindus. Kanchipuram was famous for being home to more than thousand temples but presently has 126 ancient temples only. The city is also called ‘Kashi of South India’. Now-a-days, Kanchipuram is also famous for its silk sarees, in dazzling colors and embellished with fine gold thread (zari). The sightseeing tour will include a visit to three famous temples Ekambareswarar Temple, Kamakshi Amman Temple & Kailasanathar Temple. Post lunch, exploring local market and colourful culture, proceed for Mahabalipuram. On arrival at Mahabalipuram, you will be transferred to the pre-booked hotel for leisure and overnight stay.

Day 16

Mahabalipuram sightseeing

Having enjoyed breakfast in Mahabalipuram hotel, sally out to explore rich architectural and sculptural heritage of Mamallapuram with Mahabalipuram tour guide who will receive you in the lobby of the hotel. Move for enjoying sightseeing and seashore of Mahabalipuram. Mahabalipuram is presently a beach village with plethora of ancient monuments, especially rock cut temples, rathas and caves. Beaches and intricately carved sculptures attract tourists in flocks. The sculptures of Mahabalipuram are interestingly disparate from the rest of Tamil Nadu in the sense that these show scenes of everyday life rather than the gods and goddesses. Mahabalipuram – Chennai – Chennai sightseeing - Departure

A bit early breakfast, drive for Chennai. Chennai, formerly called Madras, is the capital city of Tamil Nadu, one of the southern states of India. It's also the door to other popular destinations in South India. Chennai is also considered among the four metropolis cities of India. On arrival, move on a guided tour of Chennai. Chennai has lot more to be explored. Fort St. George, Fort Museum, Santhome Cathedral, Kapaleeswarar Temple & the Government Museum are the prime destinations to be seen. After city sightseeing, you will be in-time transferred to Chennai airport to board flight for your onward destination.
