3 Days Ayodhya Diwali Tour

  3 Days / 2 Nights

   Ayodhya

3 Days Ayodhya Diwali Tour, a pilgrimage tour, is undoubtedly a journey into a rich legacy of history & culture. Ayodhya is a principal city of the ancient kingdom of Kosala. Ayodhya is part of Uttar Pradesh, and is the land of Lord Rama. Ayodhya is the town where Raja Ram was born and had grown up to become Maryada Purushottam; the most revered man. In addition to this, Ayodhya is also the place where lord Rama was exiled and the place he was bestowed with kingdom on returning after vanquishing evil. The people of Ayodhya celebrated the return of Ram by lighting ‘diyas’ and distributing sweets. The day celebrated is celebrated since then as Diwali. Naturally, being witness to Diwali in Ayodhya is a lifetime experience. Revered by Hindus as the birthplace of Lord Rama, hero of the Ramayana, it is one of India’s seven sacred places. It’s most important and revered place is Ramjanmabhoomi. Ayodhya & Lord Ram are mutually inextricably intertwined. Hanuman Garhi is a historical & religiously sacred temple site. Buddha is said to have travelled extensively in these parts and Huen Tsang, that indefatigable 7 th century Chinese tourist, reports on this place in glowing terms. Diwali Tour of Ayodhya is customizable one; it can be tailor-made to group or private trip.

There is a gargantuan structure that is shaped like a four sided fort having circular bastions on each of its comers. Kanak Bhawan is found near Hanuman Gaihi and is visited by thousands of tourists every year. This temple is famous for lord Rama and Sita wearing gold crowns; which is also the reason for the temple being popularly referred to as Sone-da-Ghar. The Nageshwarnath Temple is also famous in Ayodhya. Nageshwarnath Temple is found amidst the many ‘Matths’ and ‘Akhadaras’ found in Ayodhya; and is said to have been established by Raja Kush, the younger son of lord Rama. Shivarathri is celebrated here with pomp and 13 plendor. Ramkot is the most frequented religious site of Ayodhya as the ancient citadel of Ramkot is found on an elevated ground on the western part of the city. This is where Lord Ram’s fort once existed.

After sightseeing, walk through the alleys & markets of Ayodhya to explore culture & heritage. Watch the houses decorated with ‘rangoli’, hanging lanterns and innumerable ‘diyas’ (earthen oil lamps). Late afternoon, proceed towards Ram ki Paidi near Naya Ghat. A large number of devotees gather here from all parts of India. Even tourists from across the globe also reach here. Traditionally, on the eve of Diwali, Ramkatha (story of Lord Ram) is played every year. Cultural activities are performed here by international performers too. After Ramkatha, in the evening, ‘puja’ is performed and celebration of Diwali is rejoiced. Relish the sweets & head back to the hotel to have dinner and retire for the day.
