Inside the city rises the formidable fort of six doors, the Champa Baoli or old well whose water was highly appreciated for its fragrance; the Jama Masjid, one of the most majestic buildings; the Palace of Baz Bahadur, the last sultan of Mandu whose love for a beautiful singer is immortalized in the folklore of Malwa.
